INTRODUCTION The solanaceous form ones of families of most important at Angiospermes. They contain approximately 90 kinds; including 3000 species of which approximately thousand belong to the kind Solanum [7, 8, 10]. This one contains some wild species, such as Solanum sodomeum L commonly known under the name of " morelle of Sodome ". In the world it is also registered under the name of Solanum linnaenum Hepper and Gager . In spite of its spontaneousness this plant is of important economic interest, seen its medicinal values and its resistance to the diseases with which the other solanaceous ones are sensitive such as the verticillose [15, 16]. The plant is presented in the form shrub which according to the bibliography [4, 13, 16], in Algeria is in the areas of Tell Algiers, Bone, the calle, Constantine ; where it pushes on the edges of the ways, the falls, the sand beaches and the fallow [3, 4, 13]. The species Solanum sodomeum L is originating in south of America and of tropical and one finds it sub spontaneous in Morocco [1, 5, 6, 8] and we see disappearances in Algeria where the grounds on which it pushed are recovered little by little for constructions. The plant is presented in form of a very thorny shrub, its sheets and its stems are provided with thorns which are right long-lived and can measure until a1 cm length [2, 5, 9]. Very little studied, the plant presents a very major root system, its length can easily exceed 2m, the flowers either solitary, or are grouped by two according to the bibliography [3, 13, 16], grouped in cyme composed of 12 flowers, with one to two flower hermaphrodites. The flower is a pedoncule with a corolla purplished out of star of 2, 5 with 3cm of diameter, hermaphrodite and of pentamerous type 5P + 5S The flowers persist on the plant during all the year, but more abundant in winter and in spring in the Mediterranean zone. The fruit is a bay of round form of marbled green color of young white with plight and yellow color bursting like a lemon with maturity. It has a sweet savour at the beginning which becomes thereafter acid and bitter [1, 4, 5, 9, Its fruits are used in traditional medicine as infusion for the sterility of the women in Zaire and like abortive [1, 4, 5]. According of the other people it is toxic and contains gluco-alkaloids and saponides [4, 10, 13]. Among alkaloids one found alkaloids sterodic as the solanine which is abundant in all fabrics of various species of Solanum [3, 5, 6 ]. It was announced that work on this plant is very rare and incomplete. With end to supplement our knowledge on this shrub we tried to undertake a caryologic study to allow us to understand the phytogenetic relations and the process of speciation. Our experiment consists in following the and cardura.

The RDSU has also provided 1, 080 hours of advice and support, which is not projectrelated. This `other capacity development' support is general research-related support to individuals, groups or organisations, which is not associated with one particular project, for example, support in establishing a research interest group or time spent attending NHS Trust Research Committees. This activity is analysed by organisation and type in Appendices 1c and d. The form in which the support was provided is shown below: Figure 3: Form in which Other Capacity Development Support was Given, for example, atrovent.

Although these symptoms are similar to those reported in narcotic addicts who have been denied drugs, it does not imply psychological dependence or addiction, for if the pain were to be miraculously relieved, once these initial symptoms were appropriately treated the patient would not seek out the drug and would not exhibit the loss of control and compulsive use patterns which characterizes narcotic addiction.

The drug-eluting stent DES ; market shows no sign yet of becoming a dull form of drug-delivery. As with all major technology innovations, a key element in gaining acceptance in the medical field has been the provision of effective clinical data. Last week's Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics TCT ; conference in Washington DC was, therefore, a welcome opportunity for industry participants to meet up and talk shop on the subject. Since the emergence of DES in the 1990s, we've seen various issues that have been key drivers in R&D research. First, we saw the battle to convince the medical world that DESs were a better alternative in various applications than the bare metal stents BMSs ; they were designed to replace. When that was effectively proven in numerous studies, attention then switched, particularly in the US, to investigations on the actual DESs approved by the FDA, namely Cordis' Cypher DES and Boston Scientific's Taxus DES platforms. That debate isn't quite over yet and in this issue of Drug Delivery Insight we've got both Cordis' and Boston Scientific's viewpoints on the topic. We've also included other data that says there isn't much statistical difference between them after all! The TC-WYRE study also demonstrated "excellent" safety outcomes consistent with previous US studies. The MACE rates were comparable for the Taxus stent at 7.2 per cent and the Cypher stent at 7.3 per cent., whilst the two groups had low and comparable overall stent thrombosis rates of 0.9 per cent for Taxus and 0.8 per cent for Cypher, with an identical late-stent thrombosis rate of 0.1 per cent reported for both stents. A look at the Taxus Liberte DES Boston Scientific also revealed 12-month follow-up data from TAXUS ATLAS, a pivotal clinical trial evaluating the Taxus Liberte paclitaxel-eluting stent system. The data demonstrated that the safety and efficacy benefits associated with the Taxus Liberte stent system at nine months were maintained at 12 months in workhorse lesions. The results were presented by Dr Mark Turco, Director of the Center for Cardiac and Vascular Research, Washington Adventist Hospital, and co-principal investigator of the trial. While identical inclusion and exclusion criteria were used for both the Taxus Liberte stent and the Taxus Express stent historical control group, more complex lesions were treated with the Taxus Liberte stent than with the Taxus Express stent. Despite this difference, the study reported comparable results in clinical outcomes between both groups. There was a low 12-month overall cardiac death rate of 0.8 per cent for the Taxus Liberte stent, as compared to 1.0 per cent for the control group P 0.62 ; . The study also reported an overall myocardial infarction MI ; rate of 4.0 per cent for the Taxus Liberte stent group, as compared to 3.9 per cent for the control group P 0.89 ; . The overall rate of stent thrombosis at 12 months for the Taxus Liberte stent group was 0.9 per cent, as compared to 0.7 per cent for the control group P 0.63 ; . The TAXUS ATLAS trial reported an overall TVR rate of 9.2 per cent for the Taxus Liberte stent group, as compared with 8.9 per cent for the control group P 0.83 ; at 12 months. TAXUS ATLAS, a global, multicentre, single-arm study enrolling 871 patients at 61 sites, was designed to demonstrate that the Taxus Liberte stent is non-inferior in safety and efficacy to the Taxus Express stent. The trial compares patients with de novo coronary lesions treated with the TAXUS Liberte stent to a historical case-matched Taxus Express stent control group derived from Taxus IV and Taxus V de novo.
How they work: They decrease the sensitivity of the breathing tubes. They prevent asthma from starting by blocking inflammation. If there is no inflammation, the muscle won't be irritated and won't tighten up. The breathing tubes stay normal. Daily use of preventive medication can make you feel like you don't have asthma! THE WAGSTAFF COMMITTEE The Wagstaff Committee exists to encourage all staff to undertake research by providing funding to appropriate projects. The Committee was established in 1997 and originated from a generous bequest of over $6 million by Mr Ernest Edward Wagstaff, a past member of the hospital's Board of Management Committee. Mr Wagstaff was General Manager of the Shell Company in Australia from 1904 to 1927, and a pioneer of motoring in Australia. He died in 1965 at the age of 95. Apart from funding major research projects, Mr Wagstaff's bequest also funds two Wagstaff Fellows, currently Acting Prof Jill Keeffe ophthalmology ; and Dr Phillip Marzella otolaryngology.

While for oesymptomatic patients, reg ular annual exams would appear to be less than acceptable, for oeasymptoma tic high-risk patients for example, those over 50 years old ; there is no ques tion of the advisability. As for the relationship between co lorectal polyps and cancer, it is direct. The fact that it may take several years for these lesions to develop from initial changes to symptomatic cancer further emphasizes the importance of periodic proctosigmoidoscopy in the detection of earlier and more highly curable lesions. Radiotherapy is currently a valid alternative to radical surgery in the treatment of organ confined CaP.The most commonly used technique nowadays is the three-dimensional conformal external-beam radiotherapy 3DCRT ; that allows the delivery of doses up to 81 while reducing toxicity to surrounding organs. Up to the '70, erectile function was only rarely accounted among the side effects of radiotherapy. With the introduction of high energy delivery systems in the '80, post-treatment ED was increasingly reported with rates varying from 11 to 73%1. In recent years further studies have addressed the issue of sexual function following radiotherapy but very few in a prospective fashion. The wide discrepancy in the reported prevalence 7 to 72% ; is highly suggestive of the lack of assessment tools, i.e. the use of validated questionnaires and an accurate knowledge of pre-treatment sexual function. A recent study comparing potency in patients undergone radiotherapy and radical prostatectomy concluded that only 15% maintained erectile function in the radiation.
